CENTRAL SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. CHANGES IN TEACHING STAFF. The monthly meeting of the Central School Committee was held in the school last evening, there being preesnt: Messrs J. E. MeV. Calwell (presiding), A. Dixon, J. H. Cole, A. Gibbs, C. Braggins, L. Butler, P. H. Shaw and A. E. Nelson. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. R. Nicol. Accounts amounting to £6 9s 9d were passed for payment. The headmaster’s report stated that school had commenced with a good pick up of new pupils. A number of changes on the staff had taken place. Mr Bishop had been promoted to an A grade position. Mr Cleland had gone -to camp. Misses J. Mulvaney and A. Whyte had been appointed as probationary assistants. Miss Kitchener, 8.A., had been added to tjie staff. Miss Sewell had been appointed as physical education specialist. Mrs Hocquard was relieving, and Mrs Rawlins was temporarily on the supernumerary staff. A motion of thanks to Mr Pither for the donation of a prize was passed. Arrangements for the carrying out of certain repairs were made. After some discussion, conclusions were reached with regard to blacking out and first aid equipment. The visiting committee for the month was Messrs Dixon, Cole and Butler. .
