A message from Batavia states that the original strength of the Japanese invasion fleet engaged in the Strait of Macassar was 100 warships and transports. There are no reports of any further actions in today’s communique, but it is believed that attacks on the convoy are still proceeding. Three Japanese cruisers were hit by Dutch bombers, one destroyer set on fire, and another destroyer received four direct bomb hits.
