USE OF PETROL

IN A MILITARY CAMP WASTE ALLEGED. ■ STRONG PROTEST BY NAPIER COUNCIL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, This. Day. The Napier Borough Council has decided to enter a strong protest because 100 gallons of benzine were being used in one military camp each week for the cooking arrangements alone. The councillor said that the people had been told by an eminent authority that benzine was more precious than gold, and wastage was going on in face ,of the offer by the gas company to install a cooking plant at a charge of five per cent per annum on the capital cost plus the cost of gas. Another councillor considered that an unnecessary wastage of petrol was occurring apart from the danger which might threaten adjacent buildings.
