MASTERTON CLUB. FIRST RACE OF YOUNG BIRD SEASON. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club flew its first race of the 1942 young bird season from Woodville, an airline distance of 42 miles, on, Saturday. Wicken’s and Son’s Ramona, 590yds per min., 4; R. Stewart and Son’s Sea Mealie, 585yds per min.. 5; A. Pinkney’s Morning Light, 520yds per min., 6.

The fly-off for the two-bird nomination rose-bowl of the old bird season from Mercer was won by J. Mayes’s Red Chief. The next young bird race will be from Dannevirke.
