Anti-aircraft defences engaged the raiders on Friday evening, when considerable damage was done to civilian property, but there were no casualties. One person was killed on Saturday, when slight material damage was done. CONFUSED STRUGGLE OVER CONSIDERABLE AREA. AXIS TANKS AND VEHICLES DESTROYED. (British Official Wireless.! (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) RUGBY, January 25. A Cairo communique states: “It is now established that during one phase of the fighting on Friday at least five enemy tanks were destroyed. On the following day confused fighting took place over a considerable area to the south and south-east of Antelat. Southwest of Saunnu -a group of enemy tanks were attacked during the morning by our artillery and infantry and was dispersed. Enemy transport and tanks on the track from Jedabaya to Antelat were successfully attacked by our' aircraft. Several vehicles were destroyed and fires were started.”
