E.P.S.

v METHOD OF ENROLMENT. AN EXPLANATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. _ Immediately details of the provisions of the new Government regulations are worked out in their application to Wellington, stated the mayor, Mr Hislop, yesterday, the notification by the Minister that enrolment in the E.P.S. of males between the ages of 18 and 66 is compulsory, will be acted upon. “We have been advised, he said “that methods of procedure may be varied to suit local conditions and a public notification will be made in a few days covering the method to be adopted by citizens in making theii enrolments. . . “In brief, however, it is intended to arrange for the blank forms of enrolment to be available at various places. Citizens should fill them in and take them to the district warden in the area in which they work or in which they live. The warden or his representative will then ask the necessary questions and will complete the enrolment. “An acceptance of the enrolment form by the district warden will be treated as acceptance by E.P.S. headquarters. This procedure will eliminate congestion at E.P.S. headquarters and save the time of citizens.” The date by which enrolment forms must be handed in will be notified publicly along with a list of officials, times, and places for accepting enrolments.
