TYPHUS EPIDEMIC
ALARMING OUTBREAK IN ALGERIA FRENCH AUTHORITIES TAKING PRECAUTIONS. AGAINST SPREAD OF DISEASE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, January 21. A Vichy report says a Ministry of Health official revealed the occurrence of an alarming outbreak of typhus in North Africa. The official said Algeria was worst affected of all areas. Precautions were being taken in North African and French ports against the spread of the epidemic. All French prisoners of war returning from prison camps in Germany were being examined.
