NATIONAL SAVINGS

POSITION IN MASTERTON MAGNIFICENT RESPONSE. A GREATER EFFORT URGED. For the ninth successive week the Masterton National Savings investors have responded magnificently in their efforts to obtain the weekly quota allotted to the Masterton district, and again the flag is flying at the masthead.

The quota scheme has now been in operation for 15 weeks and though the figures have not been reached on each occasion- the sum received at the localPost Office over the whole period considerably exceeds the quota. The Masterton National Savings Committee is gratified with the results so far obtained, but point out that good as the response has been to date, a greater effort should be made in the near future. In this direction there is considerable room for improvement in the number of investment accounts opened in the district, which is 2.500, and a “drive'’ to secure 500 new investors will be commenced immediately.

The popularity of the group scheme is being maintained, new accounts continue to be set up and the membership of those already in operation is increasing daily. The latest group account set up is one which has been formed by the suppliers of the Masterton Co-operative Dairy Coy., Ltd., and one which it is hoped will receive the whole-hearted support of the dairy farmers.
