REGRET EXPRESSED
RETIREMENT OF ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY. (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, January 21. The Archbishop of Canterbury made the announcement that he was retiring in the College Hall attached to Westminster Abbey. The Bishop of London expressed the bishops’ regret at the retirement, “of which they had heard with something akin to dismay.’’ The Dean of Norwich voiced the clergy’s regret.
