RANDWICK RACES
NO ENTRIES FROM NEW ZEALAND. TRANSPORT DIFFICULT TO ARRANGE. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. For the first time in many years entries have not been received from New Zealand for the Randwick autumn races.
The “Herald’s” sporting writer says: “As there are good horses in New Zealand it is evident that the owners have accepted the position that transport will be difficult to arrange.” The entries for the Doncaster Handicap this year number only 86, compared with 106 last year, and 78 for the Sydney Cup compared with 90 last year.
