HEAVILY DEFEATED
SECESSION MOTION IN SOUTH AFRICA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) CAPE TOWN, January 16. Parliament rejected by 90 votes to 48 the motion by the Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Malan, that the Union should secede from the British Commonwealth and establish a Christian National Republic.
