BIG EXPANSION PLANS MORE THAN DOUBLE EXISTING STRENGTH. INCREASE THIS YEAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, January 15.
Mr Stimson, Secretary of War, has announced that the army has begun expanding to approximately 3,600,000 officers and men, more than double its existing strength. The increase will be accomplished this year and a further increase will be made next year.
