Lamb-killing operatives at the Westfield freezing works decided not to work after midday till the bus transportation system was improved to prevent overcrowding. “The announcement came as a thunderbolt.” said a representative of the management. “There is still half a day’s killing in the stock yards.” About 200 men are affected, and the number will possibly extend to 400.” •
