WARTIME CONDITIONS
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDY offered BY BRITISH COUNCIL. TO SPECIALLY QUALIFIED WOMEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Four scholarships to the value of j £3OO each and tenable for 12 months,: have been made available to women' graduates of the University of New Zealand by the British Council for the year 1942-1943. Applicants must be. British subjects at least 23 years of age and must have graduated at a recognised academic institution. The scholarships are intended to enable specially qualified -women to visit the United Kingdom in order to study wartime conditions in some department within their particular field, such as education, economics, public health social service or medicine.
The hope is expressed by the British Council that application will be received from candidates with good academic qualifications and' who have already had practical experience in their chosen sphere,
