HAMBURG AND OTHER PORTS

RAIDED

MANY FIRES IN SHIPBUILDING AREA.

SLIGHT ENEMY ACTIVITY OVER ENGLAND.

LONDON, January 15

Hamburg was the chief objective of R.A.F. bombers last night. Shipping and the yards where enemy vessels are built were showered with high explosives and many fires broke out. One in particular lit up the sky for 20 minutes. Emden and other ports, the docks at Rotterdam and aerodromes in Holland were also attacked. We lost five planes.

Over England last night a' German plane was shot down in the course of slight enemy activity.
