Very large acceptances were received for the first day of the Wellington Racing Club's summer meeting, to be held on Saturday next and Saturday week. The smallest handicap field is 17 in the Cup. CANTERBURY MEETING. TO BE HELD AT MOTUKARARA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 13. The Canterbury Jockey Club has received permission from the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Parry, to hold its summer meeting on the Motukarara racecourse on Saturday, February 7. The programme will be the same as that issued some weeks back, when the meeting was expected to be at Riccarton, and as the Motukarara racecourse provides excellent going, as well as plenty of room for even big fields, the response of owners is not likely to be affected by the change.

In consequence of military requirements on the course, the Forbury Park Cup meeting, which was to have been held on January 29 and 31, has been abandoned.

JOCKEY’S ALLEGATIONS.

AGAINST A HORSE OWNER.

The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club held a special meeting in Hastings today to inquire into certain allegations made by a licensed jockey against a horse owner under Rule 338 (1) (a) of the Rules of Racing. After hearing certain evidence, the inquiry was adjourned, pending further investigations, and will be resumed at an early date.
