DEMAND FOR LAMBS
PRICES INCREASE AT PAHIATUA.
The Auctioneers Association report as follows on the Pahiatua sale: A yarding of over '4,000 sheep, mostly comprising lambs, was offered to a good attendance of outside districts and local buyers. Generally the main lines of lambs yarded were far superior in quality than the previous week’s offering and the market accordingly rose in comparison. Top lambs were in keen demand, condition and size being a credit to the breeders. Black-face lambs were again in short supply. Woolly wether lambs also comprised a small percentage of the yarding.
