HOME GUARD
MASTERTON BATTALION ROUTINE ORDERS. COURSES OF INSTRUCTION. Routine orders for the Masterton Battalion, of the Home Guard for the coming week are:— Classes: N.C.O. class on Tuesday, January 13, at 7.0 p.m. at Municipal Hall. Parades: Headquarters, A and C companies: Parade at respective drill halls on Thursday, January 15, at 7.0 p.m. Other- centres will adhere to individual arrangements. Courses of instruction: All previous orders relative to courses of instruction are cancelled. Company commanders are now instructed to submit as soon as possible names of officers and N.C.O’s. desirous of attending the following courses of instruction: Guerilla and tank warfare, tactics, weapon training, field craft and tank hunting, guerilla and tank warfare, and engineering. Quartermaster stores and headquarters’ office: These are now situate in Perry’s Buildings (first floor), Perry Street, Masterton, and R.Q.M.S. and/or Orderly sergeant will be in attendance from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. daily (except Sundays). Transfers, promotions and appointments: Headquarters Coy.: R.Q.M.S. Price relinquishes appointment —C.Q.M.S. Jenkins to be R.Q.M.S. A Coy.: I. H. Hopkirk to be Corporal. C Coy.: Guardsman Cleghorn to be temporary sergeant whilst on duty at C.W.S. D Cov.: Sergeant I. Webber to be C.Q.S.; J. L. Smith to be Sgt. (Matahiwi); R. D. Perry to be Cpl. (Matahiwi); L/Cpl. W. Bragg to be Cpl. (Rangitumau); Cpl. R. M. Perry to be Actg. Sgt. (Kaituna); Cpl. V. Buick to be Sgt. (Mt. Bruce); Cpl. H. S. McGovern to be Ptn. Sgt. (Rangitumau). Transfer: T. McArley from A Coy. to F Coy. (Tinui Platoon). Marched out: Headquarter Sigs.: F. A. Parsons to Territorial Camp; C Coy.: S. J. Watt to Territorial Camp; F Coy.: P. Stephens, B. L. Williams, A. G. Lane. R. O. Stevens, and J. Huriki.
