STATE THEATRE
“WESTERN UNION.” Made into one of the most thrilling adventure pictures of all time, Zane Grey’s “Western Union” will be shown tonight. Filmed a techmcolour, it has a splendid cast headed by Robert Youfig, Randolph Scott, Dean Jagger and Virginia Gilmore. The film depicts the building of the telegraph in the West by Edward Creighton. Dean Jagger plays the noted engineer who leads a wagon-train out of Omaha with distant Salt Lake City as the goal. Romance, action, Indians, adventure, and all the excitement that was the frontier West have been deftly blended in “Western Union,” which is undoubtedly a brilliant picture. Others featured in the cast include John Carradine, Slim Summerville, Chill Wills and Barton Mac Lane.
A matinee will be held on Saturday at 2.15 p.m.
