TERRITORIAL MOBILISATION

MAN POWER COMMITTEE’S SITTINGS. S SOUTH WAIRARAPA CASES DEALT WITH. Sittings of the Wairarapa Man Power Committee were held in the South Wairarapa yesterday afternoon, when several appeals arising out of Territorial mobilisation were dealt with. The chairman, Mr T. Jordan, presided. Messrs L. T. Daniell and J. W. Lewis were also present. The following appeals were lodged on the grounds of public interest. John Ambrose Anker (orchard assistant), appeal lodged by R. H. Anker. — Dismissed. Roy Drysdale Elwin, cheesemaker (appeal lodged by Parkvale Dairy Co.). —Dismissed. F. J. Wilkinson, blacksmith (appeal lodged by Masson & Co., Ltd.). —Adjourned to March 31, 1942. An appeal against service by I. S. Moody, farmer, was adjourned to March 31, 1942. N. K. Drummond, farm hand (appeal lodged by F. Daysh), adjourned sine die, reservist to join the Home Guard. Stanley W. J. Green, factory hand and truck driver (appealed for by G. W. Busby). —Adjourned to May 31. 1942. Warren Alfred Smith, farm hand (A. H. Smith). —Dismissed, reservist to serve after February 28, 1942. An appeal by C. E. Stevens, baker, for K. Lenihan. baker's apprentice, was adjourned sine die. The Clindale Dairy Factory appealed for George Pratt and Edward L. Hooper, cheesemaker. Adjournments until May 31, 1942, were made. An appeal by H. Harland for C. H. Harland, bee keeper's assistant, was adjourned to May 30. 1942. Appeals by the Greytown Dairy Company for F. Herod and B. O’Neale, cheese-makers, were adjourned to March 31, 1942. An appeal by R. W. Roydhouse for H. W. Morris, printer’s apprentice, on the ground of undue hardship, was adjourned to March 31, 1942.
