SALE AT ADDINGTON. GENERAL EASING IN VALUES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 7. The Addington market resumed today after three weeks’ holiday. The entries were larger and there was a general easing in values. Store sheep mainly comprised lambs, which sold remarkably well in comparison with fats. The best of the lambs made from 20s to 21s sd, but these were taken for freezing. Best rape lambs otherwise sold at from 16s 6d to 19s. Two-tooth wethers sold at up to 20s sd, and twotooth Romney ewes to 20s. Fat lambs sold at above export competition for heavy sorts at the preholiday sale, but eased to the improved schedule rate of BJ-d per lb. for 36’s today. The schedule was just about maintained. Fat wethers improved by up to 2s, but ewes declined to about the same extent and came back to export schedule. Fat cattle values slipped by 20s to 25s a head. Fat pigs saw a decline of 5s to 7s a head for porkers, prices for which ranged from £2 3s 6d to £2 12s 6d, and the average price per lb., 6d to 7d. Baconers were easier by ss. Prices ranged from £3 3s 6d to £3 10s, and the average per lb. 5d to MASTERTON SALE. SATISFACTORY PRICES. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their first Masterton sale of the year held yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep came forward which consisted mainly of blackface and whiteface lambs. The entry created a good deal of interest, farmers being anxious to get a line on prices for the season. Competition was keen, although farmers had a definite limit. Prices realised were satisfactory and any lambs showing condition sold readily. A small line of wethers showed an improvement in price as compared with the last sale. A total clearance was effected under the hammer and the following list of principal sales will indicate values:— Forward b.f. lambs, a/c “Glenburn,” 17s; • medium b.f. lambs, 14s lOd; small do., 10s to 12s; forward woolly wether lambs, a/c H. G. Myers, 17s; medium woolly wether lambs, 13s 3d to 13s 9d; small do., 7s to 8s 6d; medium shorn wether lambs, 13s 7d; small do., 8s 9d to 10s; cull w.f. wether lambs, 5s Bd, 6s 2d to 6s 4d; good woolly ewe lambs, a/c H. G. Myers, 17s; shorn ewe lambs, a/c W. B. Hull, 13s 6d; small do., 10s 8d; fat b.f. 2-tooths, 20s; light fat wethers, 18s 9d; fat ewes, 9s to 10s; good store 2tooth wethers, 17s Id.
