FAREWELL PRESENTATION

MR J. WRIGHT HONOURED. Mr “Jim" Wright, who for the past two years has been cadet to Mr C. R. Mabson (Borough Engineer), was last evening made the recipient of a tangible token of the Borough Council staff’s esteem. Mr Mabson, in making the presentation, remarked that in Mr* Wright's new vocation (announcer’ at 4YD, Dunedin) a turn of the dial of an evening might bring his voice into touch with old Masterton friends “over the air.” He trusted that this new outlet for undoubted talent would eventually find fitting reward. Incidentally, it might be mentioned that Mr Wright's grandmother (Mrs M. W. Simpson, formerly 1 of Masterton) is a resident of the southern city.
