RAIL TRAFFIC DELAYED
WASHOUT IN MANAWATU GORGE. A washout in the Manawatu Gorge delayed rail traffic for some hours today. The service was restored this afternoon. The south-bound express was scheduled to arrive in Masterton at 3.30 o’clock this afternoon, an hour and a half late. A special train in lieu of the express left for Wellington earlier this afternoon.
