GREYTOWN

OBITUARY MR W. J. GATES. (“Times-Age" Special.) The death occurred at Dannevirke yesterday of Mr W. J. Gates, of Greytown, at tlie age of 63 years. MiGates, who was born in Masterton, resided in Greytown for many years, where he was employed in the bakery business. He was captain of the Greytown Fire Brigade for many years and was a warden at St Luke’s Church. He was a member of the Odd Fellows’ Lodge. Mr Gates is survived by a wife and two sisters, Mrs A. D. Burch, Greytown, Mrs A. Coe, Maharahara, and a brother, Mr E. L. Gates, Greytown. The funeral will leave St Luke’s Church, Grey town, at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday for the Greytown cemetery. TOWN HALL TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME. The programme at the Town Hall tonight will be headed by a thrilling drama, “Unfinished Business,” featuring Irene Dunne and Robert Montgomery. The other picture is “The Hun at War.” (Recommended by the Censor for adults).
