SERVICES OF INTERCESSION

OBSERVANCE IN MASTERTON YESTERDAY. There were large attendances at special services of intercession held by churches in Masterton yesterday. Services were held yesterday morning at St. Matthew's Church and at the Knox Presbyterian Church, the Lansdowne Church congregation participating in the service at Knox. A service will be held at St. Patrick's Church on Sunday. A combined Methodist-Salvation Army watch night service was held at the Methodist Church on Wednesday night. It was conducted by Major O. E. Ransom and the Rev. H. S. Kings. Addresses were given by Brigadier Perry, and Messrs C. R. Goudge and W. D. Blundell. A watch night service was also held by the Gospel brethren. A service was conducted by the Right Rev. John Davie at the Masterton bowling green yesterday. A number of bowlers were present.
