Soldiers do not always appreciate the various efforts which are made for their edification, notes “Lucio” in the Manchester Guardian.” Even talks such as those announced by the War Office on the course of military operations and “current affairs” may not be received with the degree of enthusiasm which, no doubt, their quality will deserve. An explanation of this apathy was offered by a warrant officer in these cryptic words: “When a man puts on uniform he loses all interest in the war.”
