OBITUARY
MR T. U. WELLINGTON. The death occurred in Masterton yesterday of Mr Thomas Udy Wellington. The late Mr Wellington, who was born at Brancepeth, Masterton, in 1873, was a prominent athlete in • the early days and won many medals. He was a Wairarapa representative footballer. For many years he was employed by the late Mr D. Wilton as a photographer, prior to taking up farming at Lansdowne. His wife predeceased him six years ago. In addition to several brothers and sisters, Mr Wellington leaves a family of two sons, Charles and Roy Wellington (both of Masterton), and a daughter, Mrs W. E. Gray, of Te Kuiti.
Mr Wellington collapsed while cycling along Roberts Road yesterday afternoon and died shortly afterwards. An inquest was held before the District Coroner, Mr E. G. Eton, last night. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence, namely, that death was due to natural causes.
