REGENT THEATRE

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello provide excellent entertainment in “In the Navy,” which will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. This pair of humourists are given capable support by a singing team comprising Dick Powell and the Andrews sisters. It all starts when Russ Raymond, a part taken by Dick Powell, becomes weary, of his life as America’s No. 1 crooner and secretly enlists in the Navy. A long series of delightfully ridiculous happenings take place. One of the best scenes is when, having drugged the captain by mistake, Pomeroy takes command of the Alabama.
