OF THE SOVIET FORCES Germans Must be Buried on Russian Soil FURTHER CONSIDERABLE GAINS ON MOSCOW AND OTHER FRONTS MANY INHABITED CENTRES RECOVERED LONDON, December 25. In Russia, the Soviet forces are pressing on everywhere with one aim in view—a grim determination to wipe out the invader. “The Germans will not leave Russian soil,” reads one statement. ‘ ‘ They must be buried in our soil and destroyed to the last man.” South-west of Moscow more towns and positions have been recaptured by Russian forces. The Tula region has been cleared of the enemy. North-west of Moscow the Germans are suffering terrific losses as they are being driven back near Kalinin. Fifteen inhabited centres have been recaptured in one day’s fighting in this area. A large number of Germans were killed and quantities of equipment captured.
