TAKEN OVER BY FREE FRENCH.

(Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 25. It is understood that Free French forces, under Admiral Muselier have occupied the islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, off the coast of Newfoundland. ~

The islands named, though barren, and of no great size, are important centres of fishing industry. They have a total population of about 4,000.
