A letter recently received from France by a soldier serving in the Free French forces is interesting as , showing the spirit that prevails in France, emerging from its stupor, and as one more indication how much the 8.8. C. broadcasts in French are listened to. The writer says: “I hope all is' well with you as regards health. Here all is well on this score. From time to time we take in our belts, but don’t worry about that, it will make us lighter for the day when you return with your friends, when you will find sure friends here, too. We listen to the London radio. All the family listens only to the radio, as our newspapers are hardly read—they make us mad,"
