Mr and Mrs Jordan attended a gathering at the New Zealand Red Cross packing centre. Reference was made to the good work the centre was doing and a toast was proposed to each New Zealand prisoner of war. The hope was expressed that all the prisoners would soon be able to return to their kith and kin. ’•
Mrs Burke, who is in charge of the packing centre, said a next-of-kin parcel, containing warm underclothing, toilet requisites and chocolate had been sent to each New Zealand prisoner of war, and a further parcel would be sent to each man during the first quarter of the New Year.
