STATE THEATRE

“YOU’LL FIND OUT.” The programme tonight is an excellent one in every respect and covers a variety of subjects. The chief attraction, “You’ll Find Out, is a combination of mirth, melody and mystery. The shuddersome portions are provided by those thoroughgoing villains. Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, who are seen as three diabolical individuals engaged in the reprehensible task of trying to murder a charming young lady so they can make a lot of money. Against this sinister scheme and its appropriate background of a gloomy old mansion stuffed with savage trophies and trick passageways, is laid the tuneful story of Kay Kyser, a syncopating sleuth who comes to the mansion with his band to play for the heroine’s birthday party and winds up unravelling the fiendish machinations of the three bad men. Before the unravelling however, there are a series ot sprightly seances, mysterious disappearances, hilarious comedy moments, several narrow escapes from sudden death and a flock of catchy, new song numbers.
