TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD
MEETING IN MASTERTON FINAL GATHERING OF YEAR. CHILDREN’S MUSICAL PROGRAMME. The final meeting for the year of the Masterton Townswomen's Guild was held in the Savage Club rooms. The president, Mrs E. J. Burke, extended a welcome to members and visitors and wished them the compliments of the season. Mrs W. H. Judd, on behalf of the Guild members, heartily reciprocated. Mrs S. Copp reported on Red Cross activities and advised members not to send chocolates in parcels. An article of clothing should be substituted for chocolates. Mrs W. H. Judd, representative on the patriotic committee, appealed for magazines, gifts for parcels or donations of cash to enable the committee to purchase tinned fruit or milk. The president congratulated the members who were responsible for the recent horticultural display, making special mention of the work of the Gardening Circle. Christmas carols were sung by members of the Singing Circle. Afternoon tea was served. Then the following items were given by children of the members:— Mouth-organ duet, Rex and Maurice Whittaker; pianoforte solos, Heather Robertson, Patrica Clarke, Peggy Bubbers, Eleanor Bennett, John Bennett, and Audrey Daysh; violin solos, Fraser Hope and Douglas Tagg; operatic dance, Kathleen Wiltshire; recitations, Nancy Day, Elaine Bishop and John Jarvis; vocal items, Rhonda Brown and Margaret Thomson; trio, Patricia Anderson, Audrey Daysh and Eleanor Bennett. .
