SOLDIERS’ PARCELS
MASTERTON COMMITTEE BUSY. ANOTHER CONSIGNMENT BEING PACKED. As many as 3000 parcels have been sent to soldiers serving overseas by the Masterton Women’s Patriotic Committee. Yesterday and today, members of the committee have been busy assembling, wrapping and packing a consignment of 567 parcels. It is the practice of the committee to forward parcels every three months. The parcels at present being dealt with each contain the following goods: Large tin of fruit, tin of cream, tin of tongue or lamb and green peas, tin of sandwich paste, soap,, sweets, toothbrush, chewing gum and if available, a book. The parcels are packed, in benzine cases. Some of these goods have to be packed in containers and it is for this reason that the committee makes frequent appeals to the public for assistance. The committee members also make hussifs in considerable numbers and are in need of further donations of trouser* and shirt buttons.
