THE BRITISH DRIVE IN LIBYA

New Zealanders Link Up Again With Men From Tobruk ENEMY ARMOURED FORCES BEING ATTACKED FROM THREE SIDES MANY PRISONERS TAKEN IN MOPPING-UP OPERATIONS LONDON, December 8. In Libya the force of our drive is steadily increasing- and it is now known that the New Zealanders have again linked up with the men from Tobruk near Sidi Rezegh, which is again in our hands. Enemy armoured forces in the El Adem area are now being attacked from three sides. North-west of El Gobi, where the Axis forces are concentrated, the enemy appears to be on the offensive. In other areas mopping-up operations continue. Several hundred prisoners have been taken during- the past few days, including- many Germans. An army communique from Cairo states that stragglers from retreating enemy columns are being- picked up, some of them starving.
