AIR CASUALTIES
NEW ZEALANDERS OVERSEAS SEVERAL MISSING. TWO DEATHS REPORTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The following air casualties have been announced (all R.N.Z.A.F.): HARRISON-SMITH, Sergeant Francis Charles, reported missing in air operations. Mrs O. M. Harrison-Smith, Auckland (m). SAUNDERCOCK, Sergeant Henry Lindsay, reported killed as the result of a flying accident. Mr H. W. Saundercoek, Waikari, Canterbury (f). GOLDFINCH, Sergeant Gavin Matthew, missing in air operations. Mr P. J. Goldfinch, Auckland (f). STARLEY, Sergeant Noel William James, previously reported dangerously injured, now removed from the dangerously ill list. Mr D. W. Starley, Wellington (f). STEPHENS, Pilot Officer Maurice Osborne, previously reported missing, believed prisoner of war, now confirmed as prisoner of war. Mi’ J. T. O. Stephens, Timaru (f). STEVENSON, Pilot Officer Linton William, previously reported missing now reclassified as missing, believed killed in action. Mr F. H. Stevenson, Auckland (f). TURTON; Sergeant Robert Alfred Turton, previously reported missing now reported back with unit unhurt. Mrs A. Turton, Kakahi (m). NEWTON, Sergeant Harold Brassey, reported interned in neutral country. Mr L. G. Newton, Urenui (f).
