GREYHOUND RACING
MEETING AT MEMORIAL PARK. GOOD SPORT WITNESSED. There was a good attendance at the greyhound race meeting held by the Wairarapa Coursing Club at Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon. The ground was in hard condition and fast times were recorded.
Messrs Yule and Jones’s trophy for most points was Avon by The Admiral and Mr pulton’s trophy for fastest time in the maiden event by Back Loop Slam. The Admiral equalled the track record.
Mr L. H. Gray’s Gold Trail put up a good performance to run second in the maiden and then win the Novice Stakes. Results of finals are:—
Maiden Hurdles: British Star (S. Potangaroa), 1; Flying Joe (Mrs L. H. Jones), 2; Sporting Gift (L. M. Archer), 3. Time, 30secs. Open Flat: The Admiral (J. Hanley), 1; Desert Gold (L. Gray), 2; Democrat (A. Spicer), 3. Time, 24 4-ssecs. Maiden Flat: Back Loop Slam (Mrs W. Williams), 1; Gold Trail (L. Gray), 2; Gay Monarch (Miss A. Hanley), 3. Time, 24 9-10 secs.
Sapling Stake: Hurricane (L. Fulton), 1; Bomber Command (L. Fulton), 2; Sea Queen (Allsworth and Jones), 3. Time, 25 3-ssecs. Ladies’ Plate: The Admiral (J. Hanley), 1; Lord Wilga (Mrs W. Williams), 2; Desert Gold (L. Gray), 3. Time, 24 9-10 secs.
Novice: Gold Trail (L. Gray), 1; Royal Silver (Mrs L. H. Jones), 2"; Lancaster Joe (Mrs L. H. Jones), 3. Time, 26 4-ssecs,
