' * N.Z. ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING OF DELEGATES ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The annual meeting of tne Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand was held in Wellington. Mr lan Camcron, senior vice-president, was in the chair, and delegates were present from North Auckland, Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, North Canterbury, South Canterbury, and Otago. A motion of sympathy with the widow and family of the late Dominion president, Mr K. Cameron, Dunedin, was passed, all delegates paying tribute to the services so ungrudgingly given by the late president in the cause of the. association.

The annual report and balance-sheet were presented and adopted after a favourable discussion. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Dominion president, Mr lan Cameron (Mauriceville); Dominion secretary, Mr M. Gray Nasmith (Wellington); treasurer, - Mr D. Macpherson (Petone); auditor, Mr P. Motge; Dominion executive, Messrs C. Stewart (Wellington), A. Barclay (Wellington), J. W. Bird (Masterton), V. J. Nicholson (Palmerston North), A. McCowan (Eketahuna), R. J. Glasgow (Turakina), W. Ross (Petone), John McKenzie (Masterton), N. Crudon (Longburn), P. Mackenzie (Wellington); Dominion patrons, the Hon. J. A. Hanan (Dunedin), Messrs C. S. Thomas (Christchurch), N. McKenzie Forbes (Hawke’s Bay); all outgoing vice-pre-sidents were re-elected in addition to the appointment of centre presidents as vice-presidents; all retiring Dominion councillors were also re-elected. Nine remits were submitted for consideration, two only being adopted. These were that the present system of numbering competitors be revoked and that the old. rule be adhered to; and that not more than one competitor in any championship event shall dance at any one time. Three remits were withdrawn.

A remit that societies conducting national dancing competitions supply, or make arrangements for, pipers to play for the dancers, was referred to the centres to deal with, as was also a remit that judges submit a report to all competitors at sports meetings and competitions held under Highland piping and dancing rules.
