MAORI MISSIONS
SURVEY BY BISHOP BENNETT. ADDRESS TO ANGLICAN MEN’S SOCIETY. An historical survey of the Maori Mission, illustrated by an excellent series of lantern slides was given at a meeting of the Church of England Men’s Society last night by the Right Rev. F. A. Bennett, Bishop of Aotearoa. Bishop Bennett traced in a most informative way the development of the mission from the earliest days up to the present and showed how the work was being carried out. On the motion of Mr G. Hyde, Bishop Bennett was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
Supper was served and all present took the opportunity of personally meeting the Bishop. Yesterday afternoon Bishop Bennett conducted a confirmation service at Masterton Hospital for two Maori patients. He was assisted by the Rev. H. Taepa. After addressing the girls of St. Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls this morning, Bishop Bennett left for Eketahuna this afternoon.
