NATIONAL SAVINGS
PROGRESS OF MASTERTON CAMPAIGN DAY TO DAY BAROMETER. WEEKLY QUOTA £784. Progress of the National Savings campaign in Masterton is indicated from day to day by the barometer set out halruu'—
Reading taken 10 a.m. daily. Yesterday’s receipts were £839. This does not include the £165 credit balance carried over from last week. Thirteen new accounts were opened yesterday. THIS WEEK’S QUOTA EXCEEDED ON FIRST DAY. SOME LARGE INVESTMENTS. Through the generosity of several large investors, Masterton’s National Savings quota- for this week was exceeded yesterday, the first day of the week, when £839 was received by way of investments, not including the £165 credit balance carried over from last week. It would appear, therefore, that by the end of the week this week’s quota should be exceeded by a fairly substantial amount. It is pointed out, however, that this does not mean that Masterton has obtained the number of regular subscribers required to ensure a weekly quota of £784 and it is hoped that although the week’s quota has already been exceeded the public will continue to invest regularly every week. It is essential to keep the flag flying at the masthead.
