NIGHT FIRE ALARMS

RINGING OF BELL DISCONTINUED. NEW SYSTEM INSTALLED AT STATION. Masterton residents will no longer be disturbed during the night by the ringing of the fire bell in case of an alarm. New equipment has been installed at the Masterton Fire Station which makes this procedure unnecessary during the night. The bell will continue to be used in the daytime, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. A call bell system has been installed, connected with the homes of all nonresidential auxiliary firemen and in the case of any alarm during the night, these men will be summoned by this means, which rings a bell in every fireman’s house.
