Art Exhibition Concluded.
The Masterton Art Club’s exhibition, which has been held in the Municipal Hall this week, had its final session last night. During the course of the week a considerable number of children from various Masterton schools inspected the exhibition. Last evening much appreciated pianoforte solos were played by Mrs S. Cumming. Record Turnover.
At the annual meeting of the. Bruce Woollen Manufacturing Company at Dunedin yesterday, the chairman, Mr F. L. Nicolson, said the year had been a record one as far as turnover was concerned, this being reflected by an increase of £26,222 in the gross profit when compared with last year’s figures. The net profit shown in the profit and loss account, £20,149 was a decrease of £3566, this being accounted for by the increased provision of £61,500 for taxation and £12,150 for depreciation allowance, compared with £36,000 and £6OOO respectively for 1940. With £BO5B brought forward the total in the profit and loss appropriation account was £28,207. The distribution to shareholders was the same as last year. The bank overdraft of £2303 last year had now changed to a credit of £17,027.
