The number of towns attaining their weekly quota of savings and thus giving full support to their boys overseas is increasing. Last week 102 towns flew their flags. The previous best week was 90 towns. The champion towns, those that have flown their flags for six weeks in succession, are:—New Plymouth, Hawera, Ashburton, Hawarden, Kaikoura, Fairlie, Hunterville, Mayfield, Taihape, Te Anga, Urenui and Weber. The runners up (five weeks in succession) are:—Blenheim, Aramoho, Awakino, Cambridge, Huntly, Little River, Marton, Mokau, Ohingaiti, Pongaroa, Takaka, Turua, Waikaia. The call from the desert is not to go unanswered.
