“FACE BEHIND THE MASK.” “The Face Behind the Mask,” a thrilling new Columbia film, which will be presented at the Cosy Theatre tonight, presents Peter Lorre in one of the weirdest roles the famous star has ever portrayed. Lorre appears as a naive immigrant who is gradually transformed into a monstrous, coldblooded killer after a tragic accident mutilates his face. Evelyn Keyes appears opposite Lorre in the romantic lead, while other’ familiar figures include Don Beddoe and George E. Stone. It is an excellently acted picture with plenty of thrills and a plot that will be appreciated. ; The associate feature, “The Constantinople Express,” is an outstanding picture which should make an immediate appeal for the brilliant acting of the principals, and the interesting character of its story. This double programme is one which should not be missed by picture patrons.
