Mrs J. Donovan, of Lansdowne, is 1 visiting Auckland. Mrs G. G. Taylor, of Pahiatua, is a visitor to Napier. Mr and Mrs T. T. Denbee, of Masterton, left yesterday on a visit to Ormondville. Mr and Mrs Max Jago, of Palmerston North, are spending the weekend with Mrs Fellingham, Lansdowne. Mr C. E. Grey (president) in his report presented to the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Gun Club at Carterton last night stated: —“The thanks of the club are due to the ladies for the very capable manner in which they carried out the catering. Special mention must be made of the Misses McKenzies as they undertook the responsibility of organisation, and what a splendid job they made of it.” Miss E. Wickens, of Masterion, who has accepted a position on the staff of the Dannevirke Borough Council, was met this week by the directors and staff of the Transport (Wairarapa) Ltd., and presented with a cheque by the directors and a clock by the staff. Good wishes were extended to Miss Wickens for her future success and happiness. Miss Wickens will leave for Dannevirke tomorrow, accompanied by Miss K. Wickens, who will spend the weekend there.
