WELLINGTON PRICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Prices of fruit and vegetables in the Wellington markets yesterday’ are quoted as follows: — Gooseberries, 4d to 5Jd a lb.; tomatoes, Is Id to Is 8d a lb.; strawberries, 2s lOd a punnet. Asparagus, 6s to 9s; rhubarb, 10s to 17s; carrots, 6s to 10s 6d; turnips, 3s 6d to 5s 6d; parsnips, 10s to 225; beetroot, 10s; all a dozen bunches.
Spring onions, 2s to 3s 6d a bunch; cucumbers, 5s to 15s a dozen; green peas, 3d to 5Jd a lb.; new potatoes, 4d to a lb.; cauliflower, 3s 9d to 8s 3d; cabbage, 6s to 9s 3d; spinach, 3s 6d to 6s; silver beet, 6s to 8s; rhubarb, 7s; broadbeans, 7s to 9s; lettuce, 6s to 13s; beetroot, 7s to 14s; parsnips, 12s to 15s; all a case. Cauliflower, 5s to 10s a sack; pumpkins, 50s a sack.
