SALE AT ADDINGTON fat wethers make late, rates PIG PRICES EASIER. ,'S (By Telegraph—Press Association.) 15 CHRISTCHURCH, November 26. With the advent of the freezing season, fat lamb values stabilised at schei_ dule values at today's Addington mary ket, except for heavier weights, which butchers bought ahead of export limits r for this class. First grade ranged from y 22s to 24s 9d, and prime heavyweight n from 25s to 28s. The store sheep entry contained a number of lines from Marlborough and intervening districts, and there was a free sale for all classes at about last week’s rates. Local wethers sold at up to 18s, and Marlborough lines from 13s Id to 16s Bd. Corriedale hoggets made up to 32s for ■ an outstanding line in wool, and shorn wethers to 20s 6d. Ewes and lambs sold well, best making up to 17s 3d all counted, others to 15s lid and odd lots from 11s. Fat wethers sold at up to last week’s prices, with ewes a shade easier. Export buyers were in the market, but could secure very few pens. Ewes are still about 5s and wethers 2s a head above schedule rates. Best wethers made from 24s to 28s 9d, good medium-weight 21s 6d to 23s 6d, good- ewes 17s 6d to 24s 6d, average 14s 6d to 17s, and light down to Ils 6’d. Fat cattle were a smaller entry of 488 head. Prime light and medium weights were a shade firmer, but other classes were unchanged, with old cows lower. Best beef made from 36s to 40s, medium 33s to 35s 6d, second- i ary to 32s 6d and inferior down to 24s ' per 1001 b. Heavy prime cattle made from £l6 to £lB ss, prime medium £l4 10s to £l6, and ordinary from £l2 10s to £l4. Prime heifers sold to £l5 12s 6d, rough cows from £4 10s to £5 15s. Fat pigs were much the heaviest entry of the year, and as a result values for pork went down by 3s to 4s a head, and for bacon by 4s to ss. Porkers made from £1 19s 6d to £3 2s 6d, average price a lb. 7d to Bd, baconers £2 18s 6d to £4 11s 6d, average price a lb., Sjjd to 7,?d.
MASTERTON SALE STORE WETHERS FIRM. FAT EWES EASIER IN PRICE. The Associated Auctioneers held their weekly sale at the Masterton sale yards yesterday. There was a fair yarding of store wethers which were firm on late sales. Fat ewes showed an easing tendency, quality hardly up to usual standards. Prices: —
Fat sheep: Fat shorn b.f 2ths, 21s (prime); fat shorn 2th wethers, 19s 6d; fat lambs, 17s 6d; fat woolly ewes, 15s; shorn fat ewes, 8s 3d, 9s, lbs, 10s 2d.
Store sheep: Fat and fwd shorn 2th wethers, 19s 8d; shorn 4th wethers, 18s 9d; shorn 2th wethers, 16s 4d, 16s lOd, 18s. Pigs: Store pigs, 355. Cattle: P.A. cows, £4 10s.
