“THERE’LL ALWAYS BE AN ENGLAND.” The following is the Scottish version of “There’ll Always be an England,” written in honour of Scotland’s great son, Sir Andrew Cunningham, commander of the British Fleet in the Mediterranean: There’ll always be an England, As long as Scotland stands, As long as there’s a Scottish head, A brace of Scottish hands! There’ll always be an England, While the Clyde breeds engineers, Where’ver there’s a kilted shank, To soothe the English fears. There’ll always be an England, And England shall be free, As long as Scottish brains and brawn Will guide her destiny.
