LEVIN MEETING
FINAL, DAY RESULTS. CHIEF EVENT TO AURORA’S STAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) LEVIN. This Day. The Levin Racing Club concluded its spring meeting yesterday in glorious weather. The attendance was fair for an off day, and the track, though cutting up a little for the first race, quickly recovered and provided good going for the later races.
The totalisator handled £13,457 compared with £28,312 on the second day last year. The big difference in the turn-over is accounted for by last year’s second day being held on the King’s Birthday holiday. The total for the meeting was £24, 596, a decrease of £22,743 10s on last year’s figures. 'An inquiry was held into the cause cf Legal losing ground during the running of the Mako Mako Handicap on the first day. After hearing considerable evidence the stewards found that the trouble was caused by Legal being slightly cramped for room due partly to his hanging out and getting on the heels of Soutane. No other rider was found to be at fault. Results: —
